Talent With Heart is seeking a phlebotomist in Reston, VA. This contract role requires pediatric experience and involves blood draws, specimen labeling, and processing per protocol.

The position supports a 3-month duration with potential for permanent placement; benefits are available. Schedule includes 8am-4:30pm on weekdays and alternating Saturdays. Compliance with OSHA/DEP regulations is expected.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrates technique with straight and butterfly needles as required.
• Ensure specimen integrity and proper labeling, packaging for transport, and temperature control as per protocol.
