Food Management Search, Inc. is seeking a Phlebotomist in Charlotte, NC for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. Schedule is 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, M-F, with benefits available.

The role requires at least 1 year of experience and a valid Phlebotomy certification per state requirements. Responsibilities include performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, maintaining data records, and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Package specimens for transport; store samples at required temperature and in appropriate containers.
• Understand OSHA and DEP regulations; attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
