Job summary

Red Seal Recruiting Ltd. in Rock Hill, SC is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role (job code 5955) with a potential move to permanent placement.

Work schedule is 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, with an expected duration of three months and possible extension. Responsibilities include performing venipunctures, labeling and processing specimens, maintaining accurate records, and adhering to OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Package specimens for transport and store according to required temperature.
• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
