Job summary

United Future, located in Charlotte, NC, seeks a Phlebotomist for a contract role (3 months, with potential for permanent) with a schedule of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

The position requires valid phlebotomy certification, at least six months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital, and a High School Diploma or GED. Benefits are available. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification valid for employing state.
• Minimum 6 months venipuncture experience in fast-paced lab or hospital.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously, and demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and label correctly.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples per required temperatures.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
• Answer phone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
