Job summary

Red Seal Recruiting Ltd. is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role in Monroe, NY (float position). The schedule is Mon–Thu 8:00am–5:30pm and Fri 8:00am–1:00pm, with an estimated duration of 3 months and potential for permanent placement. Benefits are available.

The role requires phlebotomy experience, proper labeling, specimen handling, and compliance with OSHA/DEP regulations, with training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrates technique with straight and butterfly needles.
• Ensure orders match and specimens are properly labeled and processed.
• Package specimens for transport and store per required temperatures and protocol.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
• Answer inquiries and communicate lab results as needed.
