Job summary

Accounting Search seeks a Phlebotomist for a contract assignment in Monroe, NY (float position). The role starts as a 3-month assignment with potential for permanent placement, schedule Mon-Thu 8:00am-5:30pm and Fri 8:00am-1:00pm.

Responsibilities include performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, and ensuring accurate data entry and transport in compliance with OSHA/DEP rules. Valid phlebotomy cert and 6 months of venipuncture experience required.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper labeling following test orders and protocols.
• Explain venipuncture procedures clearly and courteously to patients and demonstrate techniques.
• Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations and participate in annual trainings.
