Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Phlebotomist.
• Experience with blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, and decontamination procedures.
• Proficiency with venipuncture and other specimen collection techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, labeling of specimens, centrifuging, recording maintenance data, and decontamination duties.
• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures to patients clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate proper technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Follow physicians' orders and match requisition forms to specimens.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples per temperature guidelines.
• Update patient information as needed and assist with training or workflow improvements.
