Job summary

Software Placement Group is assisting a healthcare laboratory services provider in Due West, SC to fill a Phlebotomist contract assignment projected to last 3 months, with potential for permanent placement. The ideal candidate holds a valid phlebotomy certification for the state, at least 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
• Minimum 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label and centrifuge specimens, and maintain records.
• Update patient information and collect/store specimens per procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process to patients in a clear, courteous manner.
• Follow physicians' orders and ensure specimen integrity during transport.
• Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
• Answer calls and relay laboratory results as needed.
