Job Juncture in Due West, SC is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract opportunity with potential for permanent placement. The role involves performing venipunctures, labeling and processing specimens, and ensuring compliance with laboratory procedures.

The position requires phlebotomy certification as applicable, 6 months of venipuncture experience, and proficiency with MS Office. Benefits are available; duration is approximately 3 months with potential for extension.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• High School Diploma or GED minimum 1 year of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain in a clear but courteous manner the venipuncture process and other specimen collection as required.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all physician orders and match requisitions to specimens.
• Package specimens for transport and store them at required temperatures.
• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer calls and read lab results to satisfy inquiries.
