Job summary

Top Echelon Software, LLC. is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent hire. The role requires blood collection, specimen handling, and adherence to lab protocols in Castleton, NY, with occasional Saturdays in Latham, NY.

Responsibilities include drawing blood, labeling and processing specimens, and maintaining accurate patient and test information. Minimum 6 months venipuncture experience and a valid phlebotomy certification are required; MS Office proficiency

Qualifications

Valid phlebotomy certification as required by state
Minimum of 6 months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
Explain process of venipuncture clearly and courteously as required
Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
Package specimens for transport
Store specimen samples per required temperatures and protocols
Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations; attend annual trainings
Answer inquiries via telephone and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries
