Job summary

Professional Recruiting Consultants, Inc. is seeking a phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. Location is Castleton, NY with M-F shifts and alternating Saturdays. Schedule: 7:30am-4:00pm, Saturdays 7am-1pm. Requires 2 years of phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, data recording, OSHA/DEP compliance, and training. Benefits available.

Qualifications

2 years of phlebotomy experience required.
6 months venipuncture experience in fast-paced lab or hospital.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection as required.
Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
Package specimens for transport
Stores specimen sample according to required temperature and protocol.
Attend annual department trainings and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
Answer telephone calls, read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
