Job summary

Actalent in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a contract Phlebotomist to perform blood draws, label and process specimens, and ensure accurate testing workflow. The ideal candidate will have a valid Phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing assigned duties and help with trouble shooting and training.
• Collect, label, centrifuge, and store specimens according to procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Match lab requisitions to specimen tubes and ensure correct labeling and packaging.
• Maintain specimen integrity and comply with OSHA/DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings and update patient information as required.
• Answer telephone calls and relay lab results as needed.
