Job summary

CareerNerds, LLC is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role in Draper, UT. The position involves phlebotomy tasks, specimen labeling, and data entry, with a schedule of 7am-3:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Projected duration is 3 months with potential for permanent employment. Responsibilities include performing blood draws, documenting results, and ensuring specimen integrity, while adhering to OSHA/ lab protocols.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and butterfly needles.
• Understand all physician orders; match requisitions to tubes, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Check test requisitions for accuracy against scripts to ensure 100% correctness.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples per temperature requirements.
