Qualifications

• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in contract administration, contract management, procurement, strategic sourcing, or a closely related field.
• Experience managing contracts in public higher education, Texas state government, or another public-sector environment.
• Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP), e-procurement, or Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems.

Responsibilities

• Lifecycle Management: Manages the contract lifecycle from request to close-out; coordinates required internal reviews and approvals.
• Negotiation: Leads or coordinates negotiations to obtain favorable terms while coordinating with the Office of General Counsel as needed.
• Compliance: Ensures processes and documentation meet local, state, and federal requirements and university policies.
• Risk Mitigation: Identifies and mitigates business, financial, and compliance risks; escalates nonstandard provisions.
• Stakeholder Communication: Advises university departments on contract requirements, responsibilities, obligations, and deadlines.
• Record Keeping: Maintains complete, accurate contract records in the CLM system and related documentation.
