Job summary

The Addison Group is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a well-established team in Buffalo Grove, IL on a 3-month contract with potential extension. You will manage a high-volume AP queue, ensuring accurate invoice processing and timely payments while building strong vendor relationships.

You’ll use ERP systems and Excel to perform 3-way matching, reconcile statements, and support month-end close. This role emphasizes accuracy, prioritization, and collaboration with internal teams.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Accounts Payable or general accounting experience.
• Experience working with accounting/ERP systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Process a high volume of PO and non-PO invoices.
• Perform 3-way matching between invoices, purchase orders, and receiving docs.
• Obtain approvals for non-PO invoices and resolve discrepancies.
• Enter and code invoices in the accounting system.
• Reconcile vendor statements and research outstanding balances.
• Prepare and process ACH, wire, and check payments.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain relationships.
• Assist with month-end close, including AP accruals and reporting.
• Maintain organized AP records for audits.
• Follow internal controls and company policies.
• Partner with internal teams to resolve issues quickly and accurately.
