Job summary

American Red Cross is hiring a Content Operations Manager to lead day-to-day publishing and optimization of content across national channels. You’ll work across CMS and DAM systems to ensure content is discoverable, well-organized, and efficiently shared with teams.

The role requires strong editorial judgment, content strategy sense, and excellent collaboration. It supports disaster operations and national communications initiatives, with remote work from anywhere in the U.S. on East Coast hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in content management, digital publishing, editorial operations, or related field.
• Experience publishing and managing content within a CMS and/or DAM system is required.
• Hands-on production experience in photography, videography or editorial writing is preferred.
• Expertise in SEO and AI-driven discovery to improve content visibility.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day publishing, optimization and flow of content across national channels.
• Publish and optimize content on redcross.org and coordinate with national photo/video teams.
• Develop and maintain clear workflows for content publication and asset management.
• Collaborate across editorial, photo, video, and other teams to improve processes.
• Support major disaster operations with surge content and asset coordination.
• Coordinate content during disaster responses and identify opportunities to repurpose content across channels.
