SelfPublishing.com in Austin, TX is seeking a Content Marketing & SEO Specialist to drive high-intent organic traffic, conversions, and visibility for authors. You’ll own on-page, technical SEO, content strategy, and backlink campaigns, with RankMath-supported publishing and affiliate optimization.

You’ll blend data and storytelling to publish impactful content, doubling or tripling traffic, and build authority in the publishing space as part of a mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience doubling or tripling organic traffic through content and SEO.
• Deep SEO expertise spanning strategy, content optimization, and technical fundamentals.
• Strong writing and storytelling skills delivering clear, authoritative content.
• Passion for books, publishing, or author education.
• Analytical mindset with data-driven content performance improvements.
• Experience in publishing, education, or creative services.
• Track record building organic traffic around service-based funnels.
• Familiarity with analytics tools and affiliate ROI tracking.

Responsibilities

• Updating and republishing blog posts to improve user experience and engagement.
• Managing on-page SEO optimizations across existing and new content.
• Executing technical SEO fixes (broken links, schema, internal linking, 301s).

What You’ll Be Doing

• Updating and republishing blog posts to improve user experience and reader engagement (think: consolidating posts, improving CTAs, fixing links, adding visuals, and tightening up copy)
• Managing on-page SEO optimizations across existing and new content
• Executing technical SEO fixes (broken links, schema, internal linking, 301s, etc.)
• Leading backlink acquisition efforts — creating share-worthy content, infographics, and outreach campaigns that grow our domain authority
• Publishing new blog content when it supports growth goals — ensuring strong RankMath SEO scores and a smooth publishing process
• Continuously improving content quality, readability, and engagement
• Adding and updating affiliate links to maximize organic affiliate revenue

• Proven experience doubling or tripling organic traffic through content and SEO

• An eye for data — you love seeing how content performs and optimizing for impact
• Experience in a publishing, education, or creative services business
• Success building organic traffic around service-based funnels
• Comfort with analytics tools (Google Analytics, RankMath, Ahrefs, or SEMrush)
• Familiarity with affiliate optimization and content ROI tracking

The Pay

$60,000 – $80,000 / year (depending on experience)
