Job summary

UW–Madison College of Agricultural and Life Sciences is seeking a Content and Community Specialist to support the BSE and SES departments. The role collaborates with the Department Administrator to lead communication and event activities, including newsletters, website updates, and donor communications.

The position supports department operations, engages with multiple platforms, and may involve social media and basic video editing for outreach, with regular hours 7:45am-4:30pm and occasional

Qualifications

• Demonstrated communication skills, both verbal and written; professional emails and inquiries.
• Experience using software: Zoom, Teams, Webex; word processing; spreadsheets; email programs; website/newsletter platforms (WordPress, Mailchimp).
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with ability to solve problems and meet deadlines.
• Experience supporting event management and implementation (ordering catering, invitations, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Collects, analyzes, and prepares communication materials from established sources using technology.
• Maintains established methods and records for operations according to policies.
• Distributes communications to appropriate entities per policies and supervision.
• Schedules logistics for meetings, conferences, travel, and unit operations.
• Serves as first point of contact, routing complex inquiries to appropriate entities.
