Job summary

NeoGenomics Laboratories seeks a Content and Thought Leadership Manager to translate brand authority into a scalable content engine. You will own the editorial calendar, lead a thought-leadership pipeline, and govern content across channels to maximize impact and align with commercial objectives.

• Strong writer and editor, comfortable producing content directly.
• Experience building relationships with KOLs or subject-matter experts.

Position Summary

The Content and Thought Leadership Manager is responsible for translating NeoGenomics' brand authority and market influence strategy into a deliberate, scalable content engine. This role owns the editorial calendar, thought leadership pipeline, and content governance process, determining what content is published, through which channels, and in what sequence to maximize impact. Partnering with business leaders, subject matter experts, and marketing stakeholders, this role ensures a consistent cadence of high-quality content that strengthens brand credibility, amplifies key messages, and supports commercial objectives. By turning strategic direction into a disciplined content operation, this role helps establish NeoGenomics as a trusted leader in precision medicine and diagnostics while ensuring every piece of content contributes to a cohesive market narrative.

Core Responsibilities

• Own the editorial calendar across all content and thought-leadership channels, translating the director's brand authority strategy into what gets published, in what format, and how often
• Build and manage the thought-leadership content pipeline, from topic identification through publication
• Write and produce content directly where appropriate, and manage Creative, agency, or freelance resources for larger or more specialized projects
• Build and own relationships with commercial KOLs, identifying and developing partnerships, prioritizing and resourcing based on which will most effectively extend NeoGenomics' thought leadership
• Consult on social media's place within the broader editorial calendar, without owning social strategy or execution
• Partner with editorial reviewer on quality and consistency before content publishes
• Own compliance accountability for all content produced under this role, ensuring healthcare marketing compliance standards are met before publication, partnering with Legal and Compliance
• Partner with Commercial and Product Marketing to ensure content addresses real field and customer needs, not just editorial planning in isolation
• Own the content production budget, freelancers, agency, and specialized production spend, building the request from the editorial plan and reallocating based on what's performing

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required
• 8+ years of content, communications, or marketing experience required
• Experience building and managing a content or thought-leadership pipeline including both hands-on writing/production and managing external resources (agency, freelance)
• Experience operating in a highly regulated industry preferred (healthcare, life sciences, pharma, or similar) preferred
• Strong writer and editor, comfortable producing content directly as well as directing others' work
• Experience building relationships with KOLs or subject-matter experts for content partnerships
• Track record of translating high-level brand or strategic direction into a concrete editorial plan
• Comfortable managing multiple concurrent projects and external vendor relationships
• Cross-functional collaboration skills able to gather input from Commercial and Product Marketing and turn it into content priorities

Travel: Ability to travel up to 30% overnight
