Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia seeks an Operations Coordinator to manage daily operations for the Contemplative Commons. You will supervise Operations Assistants, coordinate facility upkeep, and support events and programs on-site.

Responsibilities include safety liaison during events, documentation of space usage, and ensuring secure closing each day. This role requires strong organization and communication, with a preference for higher education experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and schedule Operations Assistants and ensure training.
• Oversee upkeep of Contemplative Commons facilities and spaces.
• Support setup, execution, and breakdown of events and programs.
• Serve as safety contact and coordinate with emergency personnel when needed.
• Monitor daily readiness and cleanliness; submit work orders.
• Ensure daily closing procedures and secure the facility.
• Document procedures for space usage, storage, and access.
• Track inventory and operational supplies for upkeep and events.
• Assist Events team with planning, setup, and 25Live reservations.
• Perform other duties to support UVA Contemplative Commons.
