Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for a new data center power generation vertical in Sidney, OH. You will own electrical design and integration of large generator systems, collaborating with mechanical, manufacturing, and sourcing teams to deliver a scalable packaged solution.

The role emphasizes system architecture, validation, and manufacturing readiness with hands-on ownership from design to deployment in a mission-critical environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years of progressive electrical design experience in power generation or related industries.
• 3+ years experience designing power distribution systems.
• 2+ years experience in AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar.
• 2+ years knowledge in generator systems and electrical codes.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for containerized and modular power generation packages.
• Develop electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring drawings, and layouts.
• Design and integrate diesel and natural gas generator systems and UPS interfaces.
• Perform load flow, sizing, short-circuit, and voltage drop calculations.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to meet requirements.
• Support data center reliability through N, N+1, and 2N architectures.
