Job summary

Republic Services in Crestwood, IL is seeking a Container Welder/Fabricator to repair, weld and paint containers and roll-off boxes. You will weld steel and aluminum, fabricate components, cut with plasma, install lids and wheels, and ensure safety compliance.

The role runs 5:00 am to 2:30 pm and requires at least 1 year welding experience or completion of a welding program. Comprehensive benefits are provided, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• Certified welder.
• Advanced knowledge of MIG & stick welders, plasma cutter, and airless paint sprayers.
• Familiar with basic use of hand tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions with minimal supervisory involvement.

Responsibilities

• Weld steel and aluminum components using MIG and ARC welding equipment.
• Fabricate steel components using a brake and shear.
• Cut steel using a plasma cutter or torch.
• Fabricate steel components for hoppers, containers and compactors.
• Install lids and wheels on containers.
• Paints repaired containers.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.
• Complete required paperwork.
• Install company and safety decals on containers and roll-off boxes.
• Refer more complex repairs to the Supervisor.
