Job summary

Republic Services in Asheville, NC is seeking a Container Welder/Fabricator to repair, paint and maintain our roll-off containers and related equipment.

You will weld steel and aluminum with MIG/ARC, fabricate components with brakes/shears, and apply coatings while following safety and quality standards. The role requires a certified welder and strong communication, with minimal supervision. This is a hands-on role with opportunities for growth within a national leader in environmental services.

Qualifications

• Certified welder with MIG/ARC welding experience.
• 1 year welding experience or completion of a welding program.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain front, rear and roll-off containers.
• Weld steel and aluminum components using MIG and ARC welding equipment.
• Fabricate steel components using brake and shear.
• Cut steel using plasma cutter or torch.
• Fabricate components for hoppers, containers and compactors.
• Install lids and wheels on containers.
• Paint repaired containers.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.
• Complete required paperwork.
• Install company and safety decals on containers and roll-off boxes.
• Refer complex repairs to Supervisor.
