Job summary

Dort Financial Credit Union in Grand Blanc, MI is seeking a Consumer Loan Underwriter to manage new loan applications, perform credit checks, assemble supporting documents, and render timely loan decisions in line with policies.

The role includes interviewing members, evaluating information sources, and determining credit worthiness to ensure accurate, prompt decisions. A preferred Associate’s degree with 3–4 years of credit union experience and bondable status are required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in business, finance, or accounting preferred or the equivalent combination of experience and education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the job.

Responsibilities

• Take new loan applications, credit checks, compilation of supporting papers and decision loans.
• Interview members applying for loans, develop knowledge of sources of information.
• Must demonstrate insight and good judgment in determining credit worthiness, work quickly and advise branch/dealer of decision in a timely manner.
• Approve loans in accordance with established Credit Union policies and procedures.
