Job summary

TopLine Financial Credit Union is seeking a motivated Loan Underwriter to join our team. This role performs credit analysis, makes underwriting decisions within authority, and supports lending staff with guidance to help Members achieve their financial goals.

Two or more years of high-volume consumer lending experience are preferred, with knowledge of Reg Z, BSA, and FCRA. Strong math, communication, and Microsoft Office skills are essential to success in this position.

Qualifications

• Two or more years experience in a high-volume consumer lending environment.
• Experience underwriting in consumer, indirect, credit card and home equity lending preferred.
• Understanding of branch operations or equivalent knowledge at a financial institution.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites, analyzes, makes credit decisions and performs adverse actions within authority.
• Reviews income on home equity applications and certifies income with varying complexity.
• Underwrites with assigned authority, obtains pertinent information and analyzes data for credit worthiness.
• Provides consistent credit guidance to lending staff and informs dealers on approvals.
• Identifies when lines of credit need revocation or reduction and communicates decisions to management.
• Maintains knowledge of TopLine products and compliance with lending policies.
• Assists in lending training and acts as a resource for staff; stays current in lending trends.
