Job summary

Dort Financial Credit Union in Michigan is seeking a loan officer to process new loan applications, perform credit checks, and compile supporting documents for review.

You will interview members, assess creditworthiness, and approve loans in accordance with established Credit Union policies and procedures. Bondability and reliability are essential.

Minimum education is an Associate’s degree in business, finance, or accounting, with 3–5 years of lending experience preferred.

Purpose of Position

Responsible for taking new loan applications, credit checks, compilation of supporting papers and decision loans. Interview members applying for loans, develop good knowledge of sources of information. Must demonstrate insight and good judgment in determining credit worthiness, work quickly and advise branch/dealer of decision in a timely manner. Approve loans in accordance with established Credit Union policies and procedures.

Minimum Formal Education

Associate’s degree in business, finance, or accounting preferred or the equivalent combination of experience and education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the job.

Experience

3-5 years of credit union or financial institution experience with some degree of loan decisioning responsibility.

Other Requirements

Must be bondable.
