Job summary

Dort Financial Credit Union in Michigan seeks a customer-focused professional to join our team and strengthen member relationships by matching needs with our loan and deposit products. You will provide friendly, knowledgeable service and support cross-functional loan operations.

Responsibilities include interviewing loan applicants, reviewing credit reports, coaching on credit scores, and assisting with teller services, while promoting responsible money management within a mission-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive, member-focused attitude.
• Bondable and able to handle confidential information with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Interview loan applicants and counsel borrowers; enroll new members.
• Review loan applications and credit reports to suggest improvements.
• Assist with loan, cash, and teller services.
• Offer credit score coaching to help members save money.
• Provide basic financial counseling to improve members' money management.

Your Role

As a vital member of our team, you'll provide a wide range of Credit Union services, beginning with building and strengthening member relationships by matching their needs with our products and services. Your role will also involve:

• Interviewing and counseling loan applicants and enrolling new members
• Reviewing and suggesting improvements for current and prospective loans by effectively reviewing loan applications and credit reports
• Assist with loan, cash, and teller services
• Offer credit score coaching to save our members money
• Fundamental financial counseling to boost our members money management knowledge

What We’re Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
• Experience: At least one year of customer-facing experience in credit unions or financial institutions.
• Skills: You should be bondable and proficient with Microsoft Office or similar software, with a positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
