Job summary

Scale is seeking an Solutions Engineering Lead for Consumer to manage a team of 3–5 engineers, own the most strategic consumer accounts, and set the technical bar for scalable GenAI solutions. You will craft reference architectures, demos, and evaluation frameworks while working closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering.

You will lead hands-on demonstrations, develop playbooks, and guide the team through architecture conversations, performance and cost tradeoffs, and customer success at scale.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering background with experience in a customer-facing technical role (solutions engineering, solutions architecture, forward-deployed engineering, or technical consulting), including hands-on development in Python or similar.
• Experience leading or mentoring technical individual contributors; track record as a tech lead or team lead.
• Experience with high-scale consumer-facing systems such as recommendation/personalization, search, content moderation, or conversational products; fluent in performance and cost constraints.

Responsibilities

• Manage, coach, and grow a team of 3 to 5 Solutions Engineers; set expectations and hire as the vertical scales.
• Own the technical win on our most strategic consumer accounts; stay hands-on in demos and architecture discussions.
• Build the vertical's technical playbook: reference architectures, demo environments, evaluation frameworks, and SOW patterns.
• Serve as the domain authority on GenAI at consumer scale, including UX, personalization, trust/safety, and latency/cost considerations.
• Partner with AEs and GTM leadership on account strategy and pilot scoping; convert to production deployments.
• Collaborate with forward-deployed Software and ML Engineers to carry solutions from design to early implementation.
• Translate patterns into input for Product/Engineering; influence roadmap for the vertical.
