Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior Mission Assurance expert to drive regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and stakeholder coordination across aerospace programs. You will lead assessments, mentor teams, and guide implementations, with a focus on Space Flight programs and complex government requirements.

The role requires TS clearance, strong facilitation, and proven ability to navigate multi-program environments; travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 16 years of professional experience OR Master’s degree with 14 years OR PhD with 12 years of professional experience.
  • Active U.S. Government Top-Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
  • Ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access
  • Experience in design and manufacturing, or technology environment
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects
  • Experience with proposal development and contract negotiation
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate teams through conflict resolution
  • Experience with multiple industry standards across aerospace and manufacturing
  • Strong facilitation skills leading workshops and VSM sessions
  • Top Secret clearance with SCI preferred
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred
  • Advanced knowledge and application of industry standards and requirements preferred
  • Extensive experience with Space Flight programs through design, manufacturing, test, delivery and support preferred
  • Experience briefing executive leadership on the interpretation of requirements preferred
  • U.S. Citizenship required for positions with a government clearance

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical authority and advisor on Mission Assurance approach, regulatory requirements, and customer-specific mandates
  • Partner across engineering, manufacturing, contracts, programs, and supply chain to ensure executability and compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement and risk reduction
  • Translate requirements into business outcomes and influence stakeholder behavior
  • Lead assessments and develop execution strategies
  • Guide implementation across programs
  • Conduct comprehensive gap analyses and maturity assessments for Mission Assurance Program execution
  • Support proposals and interpret regulatory and contractual requirements
  • Evaluate the organization’s ability to meet customer requirements
  • Support negotiations of terms and conditions concerning regulatory flow downs
  • Mentor and train personnel on Mission Assurance approaches
  • Serve as a non-advocate in resolving complex requirements interpretation
  • Support ethics investigations involving requirements interpretation
  • Maintain current knowledge of regulations, standards, and industry best practices and disseminate insights internally
  • Potentially serve on industry boards
  • Influence stakeholders through excellent written and verbal communication
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Travel 25% of the time
