Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation seeks a Lab Manager to develop, administer, and direct all laboratory and related patient care activities within areas of accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in medical laboratory science from a NAACLS accredited MT program.
• National registration or certification in concordance with current Federal and/or State Regulations. Licensure per state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a technical consultant for Baptist clinics.
• Works with lab and clinical care team to meet training and regulatory needs.
• Implements testing and training to meet operational requirements.
• Utilizes laboratory skills to perform and report results of defined procedures.
• Assists with training of other employees under supervision.
• Responsible for assigned shifts and overtime/call back as required.

Overview

Under the direction of the Lab Manager, develops, administers, directs and implements all lab and related patient care activities, for areas of accountability. Responsibilities include but are not limited to standardization of systems, training, identification of efficiencies, integration of performance improvement strategies, processes and communication plans which support lab goal attainment while fostering patient, physician and employee satisfaction. Acts as a technical consultant and/or CLIA Lab Director as needed for areas assigned.

• Works in close collaboration with the lab and clinical care team to meet and support training and regulatory needs.

• rves as a resource for lab orders and procedures as well as regulatory requirements and insurance limitations.
• Implements testing and training as needed in order to meet operational requirements.
• Utilizes Laboratory skills to perform and report results of clearly defined laboratory procedures assuring optimal patient outcomes.
• Assists with the training of other employees under the direction of the Lab Services Director and lab manager.
• Responsible for assigned shifts and subject to overtime and call back as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements, Preferences and Experience

Education

Minimum:Bachelor Degree in medical laboratory science from a NAACLS accredited MT program

Experience

Preferred:Leadership experience; Experience in a clinic setting

Minimum:2 years lab experience in hematology and chemistry

Licensure, Registration, Certification

Minimum:National registration or certification in concordance with current Federal and/or State Regulations. Licensure per state regulations.
