Job summary

McCarl's LLC, located in Bridgeville, PA, seeks a Payroll Accountant to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. The role collaborates with Operations, HR, and the Finance Team to ensure proper recording, reconciliation, and compliance with federal, state, local, union, and company requirements.

You will identify root causes of payroll issues, strengthen internal controls, support audits, and drive process improvements across payroll and workforce-related accounting functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business.
• 1-3 years of payroll experience required.
• Construction industry experience required.
• Union payroll experience required.
• Certified payroll and prevailing wage experience preferred.
• Multi-state payroll experience preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with payroll systems (ERP) preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll for union and non-union employee groups.
• Review time entries, pay rates, deductions, and earnings for accuracy.
• Process payroll adjustments, retroactive payments, corrections, and terminations.
• Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation.
• Administer garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and other deductions.
• Ensure compliance with wage & hour laws and union agreements.
• Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts.
• Assist with close activities and prepare payroll schedules for reports.
• Maintain payroll burden calculations and labor allocations.
