Job summary

AXA XL, the P&C and specialty risk division, seeks a Senior Underwriting Officer - Construction to bolster the Middle Market segment in the US. You will apply deep construction underwriting expertise to drive profitable growth for mid-sized clients.

Reporting to the Head of Industry Solutions, you’ll lead technical underwriting, monitor portfolio performance, and collaborate with product, claims and actuarial teams, plus brokers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; experience in construction underwriting.
• CPCU/CRIS/RPLU preferred designation.
• Experience with rating programs and structures.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level technical support to underwriters and enable profitable growth.
• Monitor portfolio performance with underwriting, claims, actuarial teams.
• Collaborate with product and underwriting teams and brokers to identify market opportunities.
• Drive underwriting strategy and risk selection based on market trends.
• Build cross-functional relationships with Claims, Compliance, Legal, and other groups.
• Represent AXA XL as a Construction SME at industry conferences.
