Job summary

Buildertrend in Omaha, NE, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to shape construction technology and build tools that construction professionals rely on to run their businesses, to work smarter, move faster, and deliver with confidence. You’ll collaborate with customers and deliver impactful solutions that improve day-to-day operations.

You’ll lead by example, mentor peers, and advocate for scalable, reliable software as the platform grows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building production software; ownership from discovery to delivery.
• Prior experience at a B2B SaaS company, scaling and reliability challenges.
• Strong hands-on experience with React and C#/.NET.
• Fluency with AI-assisted engineering to work faster while maintaining quality.
• Knowledge of software design patterns and modern development practices (Agile, Scrum).

Responsibilities

• Talk to customers and translate feedback into technical solutions through design, development, and delivery.
• Write clean, maintainable code with high performance and reliability as the platform scales.
• Push back on solutions that don’t solve the real customer problem and advocate for those that do.
• Lead code reviews and mentor engineers to raise engineering standards.
• Identify improvements to strengthen the platform over time.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to engineers, product partners, and stakeholders.
• Contribute to planning, retrospectives, and other agile practices that support consistent delivery.
