Job summary

International Concrete Products is seeking a Production Supervisor Trainee in Germantown, WI. You will lead and train a production team, plan manpower, and drive safety, quality, and efficiency on the floor alongside the Plant/Production Manager.

The role is hands-on, spending most time on the production floor with opportunities for advancement; weekend/OT may apply with weekly pay and local shift coverage.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years in manufacturing; 1+ year supervisory experience; proven cost-saving ability.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate piece complexity and plan manpower, schedules, and special requirements for production.
  • Lead pre-project safety, quality, and efficiency planning with teams and departments.
  • Assist QC with drawings and track production progress daily.
  • Approve timecards and vacation requests for designated areas.
  • Review goals with Production Manager each day.
  • Ensure training, accountability, cleanliness, and tool organization on the floor.
  • Communicate needs to other department leads; manage safety audits and performance reviews.

About the Role:

The Production Supervisor Traniee is responsible for leading, training, delegating, planning, and driving our production team to ensure our customers receive a world-class precast product. Through collaboration with our Plant Manager, Production Manager, Quality Team, Engineering Team, and Field Teams, they support our vision to be the safest and most innovative precast building company.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a hands-on production management role. A successful candidate will spend most of their time on the production floor, actively working alongside the team, rather than primarily in an office setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate complexity of pieces and plan manpower needs, start times, pour schedules and any other special requirements required for production of product lines
  • Hold production meeting(s) with the teams (carpenters, prep, steel, casting, other supervisors, other departments, or any other person(s) as deemed necessary) prior to starting new project to plan for safety, quality, and efficiency during production
  • Assist QC with any drawing issues and track & report on production progress throughout the day
  • Approve timecards and vacation requests for designated areas
  • Meet with Production Manager daily to review goals, KPI's or upcoming projects
  • Assessing any training required, accountability of teams, cleanliness of production areas, managing tool usage and organization with shadow boards or coordinating any team visits to other production areas or field
  • Communication with other department leads on any drawing, material, or other items needed
  • Complete all safety audits, cleaning audits, and performance reviews
  • Establish and plan department initiatives to increase efficiency, quality, safety, reduce waste in material or any other improvements needed. Communicate wins with the team(s)
  • Work with Team on any corrective action plans needed
  • Perform QC duties for pre/post pour inspections
  • Monitor batching/casting procedures to ensure a quality product
  • Establish and monitor task times to ensure crews are working efficiently
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, 1+ years supervisory experience. Demonstrated ability to drive cost savings
