Job summary

Mid States Concrete Industries is seeking a dedicated concrete production team member in South Beloit, IL, to build forms, install rebar, and read blueprints for precast products. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and precise construction practices.

You will operate common hand and power tools, work in all weather, and lift 50–100 pounds as needed while supporting training for newer crew members. The position offers competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Ability to read a tape measure and interpret technical construction drawings.
• Strong work ethic with ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable standing, lifting, and kneeling for up to 10 hours a day.
• Experience in concrete work or construction labor is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble concrete forms for pouring precast products.
• Install rebar, plates, mesh, and foam insulation per plans.
• Read measurements and drawings to ensure structural integrity.
• Operate hand and power tools used in concrete construction.
• Secure rebar strands for structural stability and safety on site.
• Maintain safety practices and keep the site clean and productive.
• Assist with training less experienced team members.
• Work in all weather conditions and lift 50–100 pounds as required.

Key Responsibilities in Concrete Production & Construction:

• Build and assemble concrete forms for pouring structural precast products.
• Install rebar, plates, mesh, and foam insulation according to construction plans.
• Accurately read a tape measure and interpret blueprints and construction drawings to ensure structural integrity.
• Operate hand and power tools commonly used in concrete construction.
• Stress and secure rebar strands for structural stability.
• Ensure safety compliance on-site and encourage team-wide safety practices.
• Maintain worksite cleanliness and support team productivity goals.
• Assist with training of less experienced construction team members.
• Work in all weather conditions and lift 50-100 pounds as required.

Concrete Construction Job Requirements:

• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable standing, lifting, kneeling, and operating on narrow surfaces up to 10 hours a day.
• Ability to read a tape measure and interpret technical construction drawings.
• Previous experience in concrete work, construction labor, or precast manufacturing is a plus.
