Job summary

JE Dunn Construction in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Superintendent 2 to plan, manage and execute complex projects with emphasis on safety, quality and timely profitability. You will coordinate material, equipment, subcontractors and internal teams, while leading field operations and ensuring documentation and compliance with company standards.

The role requires strong communication, Lean-oriented process improvement, and the ability to work non-traditional hours and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years construction experience.
• 3+ years field supervision experience.
• Lean principles experience preferred.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• May require periods of travel and/or relocation.
• May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold).
• May require non-traditional hours to meet project needs.

Responsibilities

• Autonomy and decision making within defined limits.
• Lead safety culture and mentoring to ensure injury-free environment.
• Manage subcontractors and overall workflow for a project.
• Oversee staff, subcontractors, suppliers and program areas (Safety, Quality, EEO).
• Develop work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
• Coordinate and manage project site care and control.
• Lead meetings (daily standup, weekly trade meetings).
• Attend progress and OAC meetings and manage project schedule with PM.
• Track and report on budgets and costs using PM system data.
• Communicate project information to owners, design teams, authorities, subs and departments.
• Maintain project filing and documentation; update drawings and logs.
• Approve/record unit costs for weekly and daily reports.
