Diamond Peak Recruiting is recruiting a Construction Superintendent for the Chicago area to lead on-site operations on luxury retail and hospitality projects. The role requires coordinating subcontractors, maintaining schedules, ensuring quality, and upholding safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in high-end commercial interiors, renovations, and ground-up builds, with excellent leadership and communication skills to manage diverse teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction superintendent experience preferred.
• Experience leading luxury retail construction projects.
• Hospitality construction experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with high-end commercial interiors, renovations, build-outs, or ground-up construction.
• Strong knowledge of means, methods, sequencing, and scheduling.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong subcontractor management and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Strong understanding of OSHA and jobsite safety requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Proficiency with construction/ project management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage all day-to-day field operations on commercial construction projects.
• Lead and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and field personnel.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and ensure milestones are met.
• Monitor construction progress, quality, and workmanship.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, architects, engineers, owners, and other project stakeholders.
• Conduct regular site meetings and coordinate daily activities.
• Review plans, specifications, shop drawings, and project documents.
• Identify and resolve field issues and conflicts proactively.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
• Enforce company and OSHA safety standards and procedures.
• Track materials, deliveries, inspections, and site logistics.
• Assist with project closeout, punch lists, and turnover.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project partners.
• Represent the company professionally throughout the project lifecycle.
