Qualifications

Responsibilities

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent with a broad commercial construction background to join this highly respected organization.

The ideal candidate will be based in the Chicagoland area or on the West Coast, although location is flexible for the right individual. This is a traveling position, with projects located throughout the country.

Candidates with demonstrated experience managing high-end retail tenant improvement projects, luxury retail construction and/or restaurant buildouts will receive special consideration.

The Superintendent will be the Company's onsite ambassador, working closely with the Project Manager, client, architects, consultants, subcontractors and vendors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and to the Company's high standards for quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee commercial construction projects from mobilization through completion and closeout.
• Direct, supervise and coordinate subcontractors, consultants and vendors on a daily basis.
• Manage manpower, sequencing, scheduling and project progress.
• Maintain responsibility for jobsite safety, quality control and schedule performance.
• Coordinate inspections, permits and compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
• Review drawings, RFIs, submittals and shop drawings to identify conflicts and constructability issues.
• Ensure subcontractors fully execute their contracted scopes of work.
• Conduct weekly subcontractor coordination meetings and maintain three‑week look‑ahead schedules.
• Identify schedule, quality and field issues and work with the project team to resolve them.
• Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, safety documentation and other project records.
• Communicate professionally with clients, architects, consultants and other stakeholders.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized jobsite.
• Monitor and correct deficiencies to ensure projects meet quality expectations and deadlines.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of verified experience as a Commercial Construction Superintendent
• Strong knowledge of construction trades, sequencing and field operations
• Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors and multiple trades
• Experience with construction scheduling software; Outbuild preferred
• Strong computer and mobile‑device proficiency
• Excellent organizational, communication and problem‑solving skills
• Ability and willingness to travel nationwide
• 5-Year Project List required as part of the application/interview process
