Job summary

RQ Construction, LLC seeks a Construction Superintendent for West Coast Field Operations (Military Projects) to supervise all on-site activities in San Diego County from the Carlsbad office. Role requires coordinating with subcontractors, managing safety, quality, and schedule.

Ideal candidate has 5+ years as superintendent, with strong knowledge of construction processes, certifications, and software tools; bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years as Superintendent on medium-size projects; 4+ years field/trade work in construction.
• College courses or degree in construction management, engineering, etc. preferred.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet) required.
• Specific software literacy (Primavera 3/6, Viewpoint, BIM, Revit) preferred.
• CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 30-hour certifications, EM-385, and STS required; training can be provided.
• Spanish-English bilingual skills desirable.
• LEED GA/AP Credential desirable.

Construction Superintendent – West Coast Field Operations (Military Projects)

Office assignment: Carlsbad, California (projects throughout San Diego County). Office assignment will be in Carlsbad, but specific construction project could be anywhere in San Diego County.

Responsibilities

• Daily supervision, direction, and coordination of all construction work activities, employees, and subcontractors on a project job site to safely produce quality work within the project requirements (i.e., RFP, plans, specifications, proposal documents), budget, schedule, and alignment with company mission, vision, and values.
• Candidate local to projects will be given priority; relocation to on‑site management may be required.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation: $100,000–$150,000 annually, based on experience.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is the minimum formal education required for this position.
• College courses or degree in construction management, engineering, etc. preferred.
• Five or more years work experience in a Superintendent position (i.e., scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, safety, and production of all phases in construction) on medium‑size projects is required, with four or more years of field or trade work experience in the construction industry required; government, military, or large commercial construction experience preferred. Work in the design‑build industry and on large‑size projects is preferred.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet, etc.) required.
• Specific software literacy (Primavera 3/6, Viewpoint, BIM, Revit) preferred.
• CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 30‑hour certifications, EM‑385, and STS required; training can be provided.
