Job summary

Richard is seeking a Construction Superintendent to oversee daily site construction activities, manage field personnel, and ensure project completion within schedule and budget. The role requires high standards of quality and safety, with oversight of trades and coordination with the project team.

The incumbent will travel across U.S. project locations, supervise start‑up to close‑out, and mentor the project team while maintaining thorough documentation and strong client relationships.

Qualifications

  • 10–20 years’ experience with a general contracting company.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the U.S.
  • Experience managing projects $20MM+.
  • Experience in federal sector projects.
  • Experience in healthcare projects.
  • Experience in managing change orders, writing contracts, and building schedules.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Bluebeam.
  • Clear communication skills with home office, owner, subcontractors, and ability to run owner meetings.
  • Availability to potentially work on any shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd).
  • OSHA 30 certification.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain documentation: change orders, RFIs, submittals.
  • Manage and oversee all contractual issues.
  • Establish and maintain customer relationships.
  • Forecast costs for job completion.
  • Ensure timely, safe completion per budgets and documents.
  • Coordinate with Safety Manager to meet safety goals.

Job Summary

The Superintendent oversees daily site construction activities, manages all field personnel, and ensures the successful completion of the project within the designated schedule and budget. This role upholds the highest quality standards, supervises trade and field personnel, and implements effective construction safety practices throughout all on‑site activities. The Superintendent reports to a project site five days a week and is expected to live within proximity of the project location or surrounding areas. Flexibility to be assigned to various U.S. project locations is required after the initial assignment.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, direct, and supervise all aspects of day‑to‑day field operations.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with all project team members to maintain schedule, safety, budget, and quality control.
  • Plan and organize project work to ensure all work is in place in accordance with contract documents.
  • Have working knowledge of owner contract, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
  • Conduct on‑site meetings with subcontractors, owners, and tradesmen.
  • Schedule and monitor field productivity.
  • Provide mentorship and training to the project team.
  • Supervise project start‑up, project completion, and entire close‑out process.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation throughout the project, including change order logs, RFI logs, and submittal logs.
  • Manage and oversee all contractual issues.
  • Establish and maintain customer relationships.
  • Accurately forecast costs for job completion.
  • Ensure timely and safe completion of project while adhering to contract documents and project budgets.
  • Coordinate with Safety Manager to ensure projects are completed in accordance with safety goals.
Mandatory Qualifications
  • 10‑20 years’ experience with a general contracting company.
  • Open to traveling throughout the U.S.
  • Thorough understanding of construction materials, means, methods, and building systems.
  • Experience managing projects $20 MM+.
  • Experience in federal sector projects.
  • Experience in healthcare projects.
  • Experience in managing change orders, writing contracts, and building schedules.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Bluebeam.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and comprehend RFIs, potential change orders, total project schedules, 3‑week look‑aheads, and other project documents.
  • Ability to manage subs in a hard‑bid capacity, understanding subcontractor contract scope and holding subcontractors to their contracts.
  • Clear communication skills with home office, owner, subcontractors, and ability to run owner meetings.
  • Availability to potentially work on any shift, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, as hospital construction occurs at all hours.
  • Experience in Davis Bacon‑Prevailing wage or Union‑required projects.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation and a drug test.
  • A desire to stay and grow with a company that will mentor, train, and educate you.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or an engineering discipline.
  • Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Knowledge or familiarity with EM 385 and CQMC.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience managing projects $20 MM+.
