Job summary

RQ Construction, LLC is seeking Construction Assistant Superintendents for its West Coast Field Operations team with projects in San Diego County. Headquarters will be in Carlsbad, CA, with the option to work on sites throughout the region.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in lead foreman roles, strong supervision skills, and familiarity with Primavera, BIM, and Viewpoint. A high school diploma or GED is required, with college coursework in construction preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• College courses in construction management or engineering are preferred.
• Three+ years in a lead foreman role with scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, safety, and production on medium/large projects are required.
• Three+ years in field or trade work in construction, military/government or large commercial experience is highly desirable.
• Computer literacy (MS Office, Outlook, Internet) is required; training can be provided.
• Specific software literacy (Primavera 3/6, Viewpoint, BIM, Revit) is preferred; training can be provided.
• CPR, First Aid, OSHA 30-hour, EM-385, and STS required; training can be provided.
• LEED GA credential desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent in daily supervision and coordination of construction work, employees, and subcontractors on site.
• Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and within project requirements and budget.
• Support delivery of quality workmanship across all project phases.
• Work on projects located on military installations as required.

Job description

RQ Construction is looking for Construction Assistant Superintendents to join our West Coast Field Operations team for military projects located in San Diego County. Headquarter/Office assignment will be in Carlsbad, but specific construction project could be anywhere in San Diego County.

Headquartered in beautiful Carlsbad, CA, we are a full-service Design-Build company. We offer management of projects throughout the United States, with our field operations' team members who work on location for each of our projects. We specialize in fast-track projects in new commercial construction for both public and private clients, with a primary focus in the Department of Defense market.

Assistant Superintendents are responsible for assisting the Superintendent in overseeing the daily supervision, direction, and coordination of assigned construction work activities, employees, and subcontractors on a project jobsite to safely produce quality work, within project requirements (i.e., RFP, plans, specifications, and proposal documents) targeted budget, schedule, and in alignment with RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values. Our Assistant Superintendents are required to work on projects, all of which require access to a military installation.

Pay: $80,000-$115,000 annually (depends on experience)

Ideal Candidates will have the following experience:

• A high school diploma or GED is the minimum formal education required for this position.
• College courses in construction management, engineering, etc. preferred.
• Three or more years work experience in a lead Foreman position (e.g., scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, safety, and production of all phases in construction) on medium or large projects is required.
• Three or more years (or equivalent) field or trade work experience is in the construction industry highly desirable; government, military, or large commercial construction experience preferred. Work in the design-build industry is preferred.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet, etc.) required. Training can be provided.
• Specific software literacy (Primavera 3/6, Viewpoint, BIM, Revit) preferred. Training can be provided.
• CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 30-hour Certifications, EM-385, and STS required; Training can be provided.
• LEED GA Credential desirable.
