Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar field leadership role on commercial or multi-trade projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, building codes, and safety regulations (OSHA).
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and technical documents and identify constructability issues.
• Experience coordinating multiple trades (general construction, concrete, electrical) on active job sites.
• Proficient in project scheduling, daily planning, and progress tracking.

Responsibilities

Role Description: The Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in San Diego, CA with reach to Orange County for new project opportunities. The Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day construction activities and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. This role coordinates field crews, subcontractors, and vendors, and maintains daily job site logs, schedules, and progress reports. The Superintendent enforces safety protocols, conducts regular site inspections, and addresses issues related to quality control, site cleanliness, and compliance with plans and specifications. The role includes collaborating closely with project managers, owners, inspectors, and design teams to resolve field conflicts and keep stakeholders informed. The Superintendent will also review drawings and specifications, assist with scheduling and sequencing of work, support material procurement planning, and mentor field personnel to maintain a productive, respectful work environment.

Project Types: This role will primarily involve scopes of work within capital improvements for existing landlords, make-ready projects for new / future tenant improvement projects, and interior tenant improvements primarily focused on retail and office related fit-outs. Ground-up experience is a plus, however the Superintendent will primarily handle tenant improvement projects, multiple at a time.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar field leadership role, preferably on commercial or multi-trade projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, building codes, and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA standards).
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents, and to identify constructability issues.
• Experience coordinating multiple trades (general construction, concrete, electrical, and subcontractors) on active job sites.
• Skilled in project scheduling, daily planning, and progress tracking using construction management tools or software.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with crews, subcontractors, inspectors, and clients in a professional, inclusive manner.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and motivate diverse field teams while maintaining a culture of safety and respect.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to respond quickly to field issues and changing site conditions.
• Proficiency with basic digital tools (email, spreadsheets, construction apps) for documentation, reporting, and coordination.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to and from job sites within the San Diego, CA area.
• OSHA 10- or 30-hour certification, CPR/First Aid training, or willingness
• Salary: $125,000 - $175,000 per year, depending on experience
