Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Construction Staff Accountant to support the Accounting and Finance team with core functions across job costing, accounts receivable, and month-end close. You will ensure costs and receivables are recorded to the correct jobs and cost codes, collaborating with Project Management, Operations, and Finance to maintain clean reconciliations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
• 2-3 years’ experience in accounting.
• NetSuite experience is required.
• Preferred having previous data center, or Construction industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate job cost records by project and cost code, reviewing AP invoices, payroll, and journal entries to jobs.
• Reconcile job cost detail to the general ledger monthly, and research and correct miscoded costs.
• Record and apply customer payments and cash receipts accurately and on time.
• Monitor AR aging, follow up on past-due balances, and resolve billing questions with Project Managers.
• Track retainage receivable by project and support retainage collection at project closeout.
• Maintain customer records and organized billing and collections documentation.
• Reconcile the AR subledger to the general ledger monthly and resolve variances.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, reclasses, and adjustments with supporting documentation.
• Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations including cash, accounts receivable, and accrued liabilities.
• Assist with bank reconciliations and timely resolution of reconciling items.
• Support month-end close checklist and deadlines; assist year-end audits with schedules.
• Assist with process-improvement, automation, systems integration and enhancement projects.
