Job summary

Anchor Construction is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our finance team. You will work closely with the controller to prepare financial statements, maintain the chart of accounts, and support monthly close, KPI tracking, and project closeouts.

The role requires accuracy, collaboration across departments, and a proactive approach to process improvements. Ideal candidates will have 2–3 years of construction accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel skills,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2–3 years of accounting experience, construction industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, NetSuite and ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate with multiple departments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the controller.
• Assist in preparing financial statements.
• Maintain the chart of accounts.
• Assist in month-end close outs.
• Highlight anomalies in the financials.
• Assist in project closeout processes.
• Ensure KPIs are met.
• Monitor accounting cycle including AP, AR, payroll and banking.
• Ensure timely closeouts (monthly, quarterly, yearly).
• Ensure accurate and timely bookkeeping.
• Advise on process refinement.
• Submit credit applications.
• Set up new customers and jobs in QuickBooks per guidelines.
• Ensure correct cost codes are used for all transactions.
