Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Construction Staff Accountant to support the Accounting and Finance team with accounts receivable, job costing, journal entries, and month-end close. This role will collaborate with Project Management, Operations, Project Controls, and the Finance team to ensure costs and receivables are recorded to the correct jobs and cost codes.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of accounting experience.
• Construction or data center experience preferred.
• Experience with job costing and cost codes.
• NetSuite experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate job cost records by project and cost code, reviewing the coding of AP invoices, payroll, and journal entries to jobs.
• Reconcile job cost detail to the general ledger monthly, and research and correct miscoded costs.
• Record and apply customer payments and cash receipts accurately and on time.
• Monitor the AR aging, follow up on past-due balances, and work with Project Managers to resolve billing questions and disputes.
• Track retainage receivable by project and support retainage collection at project closeout.
• Maintain customer records and organized billing and collections documentation.
• Reconcile the AR subledger to the general ledger each month and resolve variances.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, reclasses, and adjustments, with clear supporting documentation.
• Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilities.
• Assist with bank reconciliations and the timely resolution of reconciling items.
• Support the month-end close checklist and meet close deadlines.
• Support year-end financial statement audits with schedules and documentation.
• Assist with process-improvement, automation, systems integration and enhancement projects as assigned
