Job summary

GHD is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Editor/Writer to support infrastructure project deliverables. You will edit specifications, reports, proposals, and other documents, ensuring clarity and client-focused communication.

The role collaborates with project managers, engineers and technical teams and requires meeting deadlines in a hybrid CA/WA/AZ office setup. Qualifications include 4+ years in technical writing/editing, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and proficiency with Word, Acrobat, and

Qualifications

• Familiarity with construction specifications or technical documents is helpful but not required.
• Strong grammar, proofreading, editing, and document organization skills.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook and Acrobat; experience with Bluebeam and document platforms is a plus.
• Interest in engineering, construction, environmental, or infrastructure terminology.
• Ability to collaborate with project managers, engineers, and technical teams and meet deadlines.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments with accuracy and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Specification Editing: review and edit technical specifications for clarity and formatting.
• Document Standards and Formatting: apply client and project standards to deliverables.
• Team Coordination: collect input, track edits, and support updates through review.
• Technical Writing and Editing: draft and revise content for proposals, reports, and communications.
• Accessibility and Document Compliance: support accessibility checks and revisions.
• Quality Review: check spelling, grammar, formatting, and consistency before delivery.
• Document Control Support: assist with revisions, file organization, and version tracking.
