Job summary

Goodwill is seeking a Skilled Trades Trainer to deliver NCCER Core Curriculum instruction and safety training to program participants. The role involves hands-on learning, work-readiness development, and coordinating with local employers to expose trainees to entry-level construction opportunities.

The ideal candidate has a strong carpentry background, multi-trade knowledge, and proven leadership experience to foster a positive learning environment and promote the organization’s mission.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• NCCER Core Curriculum certification or ability to obtain within three months.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver instructional content for the NCCER Core Curriculum.
• Provide training in construction safety, tool operation, construction math, blueprint reading, employability skills and related topics.
• Conduct limited hands-on skills training to reinforce classroom instructions.
• Establish supportive relationships with trainees to help meet educational, personal, and career goals.
• Model professionalism, teamwork, and clear communication to foster a positive learning environment.
• Assist with program-related administrative tasks and record keeping.
• Coordinate with local construction employers to create exposure to entry-level careers.
