Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Michiana, Inc. is seeking a Construction Skilled Trades Instructor to provide technical and employability skills instruction in the Elkhart, IN area.

The role focuses on NCCER CORE and OSHA 10 curriculums, with emphasis on safety, math, drawings, and hands‑on trades training. The instructor will ensure equipment readiness, coordinate with the Program Manager, mentor diverse learners, and connect graduates with area employers while upholding Goodwill’s mission and core

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and skilled trades experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the construction or building trades.
• Current licensure, certification, or journeyman level credential in at least one skilled trade.
• Ability to complete NCCER Instructor, Proctor, and Skills Assessment Courses.
• Prior teaching, training, coaching, or workforce development experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acquire and maintain knowledge of NCCER CORE and OSHA 10 curriculums.
• Ensure curriculum is updated as credential requirements change.
• Organize classes and determine daily training priorities with co-instructor and Program Manager.
• Facilitate NCCER CORE and OSHA 10 curriculums to diverse learners.
• Integrate employer expectations into daily instruction.
• Network with area employers to hire graduates.
• Support students with resources and safety during activities.
