Job summary

Gray Construction is seeking a Site Safety Manager to join its Field Operations Team on a field/project basis. The role will act as on-site Safety Officer, overseeing health and safety compliance across assigned projects and mentoring the safety team.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of construction safety experience, strong leadership, and the ability to drive safety culture while coordinating with project management, contractors, and safety professionals nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational or environmental health and safety or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of related construction safety experience.
• Light/heavy industrial construction experience.
• Ability to identify exposures and lead corrective actions.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
• NCSO and Advanced First Aid strongly preferred.
• Visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-site Safety Officer for assigned projects.
• Monitor and inspect the job site for health and safety compliance; identify hazards.
• Implement safety policies onsite; coordinate with project manager, contractors, and safety professionals.
• Provide health and safety training to all employees onsite.
• Establish and manage a jobsite safety culture in line with Gray’s program.
• Assist onboarding and mentoring of new site safety team members.
• Review contractor site safety programs and enforce compliance.
• Maintain safety records; develop site safety plans and emergency response plans.
• Consult with supervisors to resolve safety-related issues.
