Job summary

Balfour Beatty Communities seeks a Safety Health & Environment Coordinator to join our team in Stafford, VA. This role serves as the primary loss prevention support for a construction project, acting as liaison between the jobsite and the SH&E Director, ensuring all safety procedures are followed and documentation duties are addressed.

Essential functions include organizing records, training staff, inspecting sites, coordinating with project leaders, and supporting inspections.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Safety & Environmental Health or related field preferred.
• 2–4 years of safety experience, preferably in construction.
• OSHA 30 required.
• 1 year of direct or indirect supervisor experience.
• Proficiency with PC and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Organizes and administers Loss Prevention records and reports.
• Trains employees on safety policies and hazards on the project.
• Requisitions safety equipment and ensures it remains in good condition.
• Conducts daily job site inspections and reports unsafe acts or conditions.
• Coordinates Loss Prevention efforts with the Project Manager and Superintendent.
• Maintains safety records and supports OSHA reporting and inspections.
